Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) has partnered with MOXI, The Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation, to bring an interactive exhibit experience into the terminal. Located near Gate 2, the installation invites travelers to engage with an Airplane Color Mixing Wheel, Talk Tubes, and a Tactile Marble Wall, all while watching planes take off just outside the windows.
The exhibit is designed for families on the move, positioned alongside a Mamava nursing pod to make it as accessible as possible for travelers with young children. But the appeal goes beyond families. MOXI's signature approach, playful, hands-on, and curiosity-driven, translates naturally into an airport setting where people of all ages are looking for something to do and somewhere to land their attention.
The partnership was made possible through the support of the Audacious Foundation, Fuse Connect, and Visit Santa Barbara. For MOXI, it's an extension of the museum's broader mission to bring accessible STEAM education beyond its own walls and into the community spaces where people already are.
