The Winner's Circle Comes to PSP

NBC and Peacock Bring the Kentucky Derby Experience to Palm Springs International Airport

Big hats, mint juleps, and the Run for the Roses, all before boarding. NBC brought Churchill Downs to the Coachella Valley for the 152nd Kentucky Derby

Palm Springs International Airport became an unlikely but perfect venue for one of sport's most beloved traditions. In the lead-up to the 152nd Kentucky Derby, NBC and Peacock set up The Winner's Circle at PSP, a fully themed activation complete with a rustic timber structure adorned with red roses, a floral horseshoe, silver mint julep cups stacked floor to ceiling, and Derby-dressed ambassadors carrying trays of signature silver mint julep cups.

The activation did what the best airport experiences always do: it stopped people in their tracks. PSP sits at the center of one of the most event-rich regions in the country, drawing visitors for Coachella, Stagecoach, and now the Kentucky Derby audience tuning in on NBC and Peacock. The Winner's Circle met that audience where they were, bringing the pageantry and excitement of Churchill Downs into the terminal before they'd even found their gate.

It's a proof of concept for what airports like PSP can offer brands chasing culturally engaged, high-attention audiences. The race lasts two minutes. The impression starts at the airport.
